King Charles III Congratulates Cameroon on National Day, Highlighting Commonwealth Ties

King of the United Kingdom, King Charles III has sent a congratulatory message to President Paul Biya and the people of Cameroon on the occasion of the country’s National Day, reaffirming the enduring friendship between the United Kingdom and Cameroon.

In his message, the King noted that partnership between the two nations is founded on shared values, mutual respect and strong people-to-people links within the Commonwealth. He added that, he remains proud of the role Commonwealth plays in fostering understanding, cooperation and opportunity worldwide.

The King pointed to the Commonwealth’s diversity and the energy of its younger generations as sources of hope and progress, adding that collective strength and unity are vital in times of global uncertainty. King Charles III expressed anticipation for the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in November, where member states are expected to reaffirm commitments and set future priorities.

He also welcomed ongoing UK-Cameroon collaboration on climate and environmental issues, particularly their partnership on the Congo Basin. In his message, he noted that the initiative supports local livelihoods, protects ecosystems and encourages sustainable development.

King Charles III and Queen Camilla extended their best wishes to Cameroonians for a peaceful and prosperous year ahead.
