The Social Democratic Front (SDF) has announced that it will officially launch its “Campaign Locomotive for Electoral Success” on June 13, 2026, during a National Executive Committee meeting in Bamenda.
The party Chairman Hon. Osih Joshua made the announcement on Wednesday, May 26, 2026, as the party marked its 36th anniversary. According to him, the mobilization strategy is intended to strengthen the party’s political machinery, grassroots organization, and “collective pathway to victory.”
He added that on June 14, the SDF will hold a thanksgiving gathering to thank God for His blessings and to honor the memory of Ni John Fru Ndi, three years after his passing. The party described the event as a moment to reflect on Fru Ndi’s courage and sacrifice, which “continue to inspire generations.”
Joshua Osih framed the anniversary as more than a commemoration. “The anniversary is not simply a celebration of the past. It is a call to action for the future,” he said. He described the SDF as “the party of equal opportunities, social justice, national unity and democratic change.”
Addressing Cameroonians directly, he urged citizens to register and run for office. “Cameroon needs new blood to rebuild this nation. New energy. New ideas. New leadership. And that new blood is YOU,” he said. “Join us and let’s transform our nation together. We need YOU and there is space and opportunity for everyone.”
He made a particular appeal to young people, saying their future “cannot continue to be decided by others while you remain absent from political life.” Osih also called on Cameroonians to contest for positions as municipal councillors and Members of Parliament, stressing that “politics is not reserved for the rich, the powerful, or the connected.”
