The Cameroon Football Federation has announced that Indomitable Lions head coach, David Pagou has opted not to hold a training camp or arrange any matches for the senior men’s national team during the June 2026 FIFA international window.
According to the release from FECAFOOT, the decision reflects the heavy workload many Cameroonian players have carried with their clubs across Europe, Africa, and beyond. After a season of intense competition, the technical staff believes the squad needs time to recover physically and mentally before returning to national duty.
Officials are confident that this period of rest will leave the team better prepared for the challenges ahead. The federation also use the opportunity to reiterate its backing for Coach Pagou and his staff, expressing confidence in their ability to steer the national team’s sporting project forward.
For now, Cameroon’s next official games are expected to be in September when the AFCON 2027 qualifying campaign gets underway.
