Tabaski 2026 in Cameroon: CNCL Sets May 18 for Zoul Hidja and May 27 for Eid al-Adha

The National Crescent Moon Commission (CNCL) has officially confirmed that Monday, May 18, 2026 marks the beginning of Zoul Hidja 1447 in Cameroon. The announcement sets the stage for Eid al-Adha, widely known in the country as Tabaski, also referred to as the Feast of Sacrifice.

According to the CNCL, Tabaski will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, a day that will bring together millions of Muslim families across Cameroon for prayers, remembrance, and sacrificial rites. The release, came as families began turning their attention fully to the spiritual and practical preparations that precede the feast.

The CNCL used the opportunity to urge believers to pray for the peace, unity, and prosperity of Cameroon as the nation moves toward Tabaski.

As families prepare to gather for worship and the sacrificial celebration, the CNCL’s reminder places emphasis not only on religious observance, but also on the values that Tabaski is meant to reinforce solidarity, compassion, and peaceful coexistence among citizens.
