The National Secondary School games, FENASCO League A in Bafoussam/Bangante has come to an end with the host, West region emerging as the overall champion after securing a total of 87 medals at the end of the seven days competition, with the Center region to host the next edition.
The Centre Region secured second place with 57 medals, including 19 gold, while the Littoral Region finished third, earning a total of 63 medals with 17 gold. The closing ceremony was presided over by the Minister of Secondary Education, professor Nalova Lyonga, who officially announced Yaoundé as the next host city for the games.
Speaking at the ceremony, the minister praised the level of organization, discipline, and sportsmanship displayed throughout the competition. She emphasized that beyond medals, the games serve as a platform for promoting fair play, team spirit, and social cohesion among youths from diverse cultural backgrounds.
A highlight of the tournament was the football final, where the South West Region triumphed over the Littoral Region, showcasing resilience and competitive spirit. The victory was widely celebrated as a symbol of unity and determination, reinforcing the importance of sports in bridging regional differences.The FENASSCO League A, aims to nurture young talents while fostering national integration.
