MINESEC shifts third-term resumption to April 27.

The Minister of Secondary Education (MINESEC) has announced a change to the school calendar for the third term. Through a press release signed by the Minister of Secondary Education, Prof. Pauline Nalova Lyonga, classes are set to resume on Monday, April 27, 2026 instead of the earlier scheduled Monday, April 20, 2026.

In the release, the minister explains that the shift is linked to the scheduling of major school competitions. Prof. Nalova Lyonga states that the National Finals of the Fenassco League “A” Games, which had initially been scheduled for April 8–15, will now take place from April 19–26 in the West Region.

Beyond the change of dates, Prof. Pauline Nalova Lyonga also urged the educational community to take necessary steps to recover any lost teaching time. She specifically calls for catch-up classes in all secondary schools to ensure that lessons continue without major gaps.

At the same time, the minister stresses the importance of respecting the school calendar, emphasizing that schools must stay organized and remain consistent with the official timelines for the term. With resumption now scheduled for April 27, schools are expected to reorganize their plans for the start of third term.
